Privacy policy

1. What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us through our two forms.

• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you pick and your message.
• Careers form: your name, email address, the area you work in, an optional link to your work, and the note you write about yourself.
• Technical data: your IP address is read by our server when you submit a form, to limit spam and abuse, and is also checked by Cloudflare Turnstile. We do not store it with your message.

2. What we do not collect

We do not collect payment details, government ID numbers, or health information through this website. We do not currently run analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing the site remembers in your browser is your Animations on or off choice, stored locally on your device and never sent to us.

3. How we use it

We do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.

• To read and reply to your message.
• To consider you for roles, now or in future, if you used the careers form.
• To protect the website and forms from spam and abuse.

4. Who handles it for us

Your information passes through these service providers, who process it on our behalf:

• Vercel: hosts the website and runs the form handler.
• Resend: sends each submission to our inbox as an email.
• Cloudflare: provides our domain, forwards email sent to our onyina.com addresses, and runs the Turnstile bot check.
• Google (Gmail): holds the mailbox that receives the forwarded messages.

5. Where it is stored and for how long

Form submissions are not saved in a database on our side. They exist as emails in our mailbox. Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries outside Ghana. We keep careers submissions for up to 12 months and contact messages for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless we are in an ongoing conversation or agreement with you.

6. Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and similar laws, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Email privacy@onyina.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are validated on the server, and we limit who can read the mailbox that receives them. No internet service is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information through these forms.

8. Children

This website is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say so on this page.
